I have had several people ask about HB 60 and if this is passed, why they would need a Concealed Firearms Permit. So this is my two cents worth after reviewing the bill. (1) HB 60 only applies to concealed carry in the state of Utah without the need for a permit as long as the person is lawfully abled to possess a weapon. Utah's CFP is still recognized in over 30 states and in order to comply with these states concealed carry laws, you would need your Utah permit. (2) You will be able to carry a handgun concealed without a permit, in a statutorily defined unloaded status. With the permit, you will still be able to carry a loaded firearm. (3) Having a Utah CFP will allow you to buy a handgun and not pay the background check fee. SO is this a win for Utah gun owners, YES, however in my opinion, still having a Utah CFP will allow for additional items that the non-CFP holder will not have.
You should still be good. You may pay a small late fee, but you have a year before needing to retake the class. You can go online and renew. You just need to be able to upload a passport quality photo.
It expired in September.
How long has it been expired?
I lost track of time and my CFP expired, so I guess I need to take the class again...
