With the passage of Utah HB 60, this has allowed for the carrying of a concealed weapon without the need for a permit. However, the same legal requirements for open carry without a permit applies to the permit-less concealed carry of a firearm. These are: firearm must be statutorily unloaded, you can't carry onto K-12 schools in the state, if buying a handgun, you will have to pay the background fee before obtaining the handgun and lastly, if you want to carry with the other states that recognize Utah's permit, you must have the Utah CCW permit. We can still provide handgun carry safety and a legal review for those choosing not to obtain their permit. Contact us for pricing and details.

Please review the below requirements before attending a concealed weapons certification course:

The big question is why WDT Consulting for your firearms training and the state concealed weapons class. Mike has talked to numerous people about training they have received. What he realized is that there are some instructors who make it about "how cool I am" and don't really have the skills needed to interact and connect with those they teach. Many have said how the instructor talked down to them and made them feel like they were not worthy to be in the same room with the instructor. Plus, Mike has been instructed by these same marginal instructors and has felt the same frustrations. Mike brings more than 20 years of real-world experience in the handling and carrying of firearms for professional and personal use. He has seen firsthand how improper training can affect the safe use and carry of a firearm. In addition to the state mandated material, we take a deeper dive in what can happen if you have to use your firearm to protect you or another. This includes what you can expect legally, physical/physiological responses, and good practices.

Mike has taught many different people from many different walks of life and has always been told that those who have attended the various trainings were happy and felt like they were better prepared than before they walked into training.
